RECRUITMENT OF A GROUP LEADER
AT INSTITUT COCHIN, Paris, France

____________________________________________________________________

Institut Cochin opens a position for an outstanding scientist wishing to establish
his/her independent team. Institut Cochin is a leading French biological Research Center, affiliated to Inserm, CNRS and Université ParisCité, located in the campus of Cochin Hospital. Its 40 independent research groups focus in basic as well as translational research domains, corresponding to the following scientific axes: Cancer, Cellular plasticity, Immunology, Metabolism and Microbiology.
We encourage applications from candidates with expertise in metabolism from molecular to cellular and integrated systems. Particular attention will be given to projects related, but not restricted, to mitochondria bioenergetics, metabolites as signaling molecules, as well as nutritional and hormonal inter-organ crosstalk. The new team will have the possibility to work at the interface with the other axes, in particular cancer, immunology and infection.

This group will benefit from extensive support by, and strong interactions with, the state-of-the-art core facilities of Institut Cochin (www.institutcochin.fr/core_facilities). These facilities provide all the necessary skills and highly specialized equipment for cutting-edge research.
Appropriate laboratory space will be available to the selected group leader(s) and an initial support package will be provided. The candidates must meet criteria to compete for national and international research funding. Those who do not have a permanent position in France will have to apply to the ERC and/or ATIP/Avenir programs and/or to French institutional research/teaching positions (CNRS, Inserm, Université Paris Cité).
