In the Team “Cellular therapies in brain disease”
(Pr. Afsaneh Gaillard, Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory, Poitiers, France)
Our research program focuses on repair of damaged adult central nervous system by cell replacement therapies. We are mostly interested in the lesions targeting the cortex after traumatic lesion and the brain lesions observed in the Parkinson's disease (Gaillard et al., Nature Neuroscience, 2007; Gaillard et al., Neurobiol. Dis. 2009; Gaillard & Jaber TINS 2011, Espuny-Camacho et al., Neuron 2013; Michelsen et al., Neuron 2015, Peron et al., J Neurosci. 2017).
We are seeking for a postdoctoral fellow, to work on the combination of stem cells and biomaterials to improve the integration of transplanted neurons obtained from human induced pluripotent stem cells.
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in stem cell/tissue engineering to improve the integration of transplanted human induced pluripotent stem cells derived neurons in animal models of Parkinson’s disease and cortical trauma. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Neurosciences, Neurobiology with expertise in stem cell/tissue engineering and molecular biology techniques.
The position is funded for 3 years and it is available from the 1st February 2020. Please send a curriculum vita, names of three references, and a letter describing research accomplishments and career objectives to Contact : Dr. Afsaneh Gaillard, Inserm1084, Inserm Unit 1084, Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences Laboratory, Cellular Therapies in Brain Diseases Group, University of Poitiers, France.
