Application for a post-doctoral Research Fellow
0-3 years post-doctoral experience
The laboratory of Molecular and Cellular approacheS FOR Myelin Repair, 7, ICM, has one post-doctoral position available in January 2019. The group (www.icm-institute.org) is focused on several aspects of myelin repair and has made seminal contributions to the fields of neural stem cells, myelin forming cells and their role in exogenous and endogenous myelin repair.
The main focus of the proposed project will be to study the differentiation of human oligodendrocyte precursor cells (iPS-derived) including their ability to be re-directed into CNS myelin-forming cells, in vitro and in vivo, and how age affects this process. The project will feature multiple approaches of cellular and molecular biology: microdissection, iPSC-neural stem cell culture, transplantation (microsurgery), imaging, electrophysiology, and standard post-mortem analysis (anatomical and RT-PCR analysis).
A good knowledge and technical skills in stem cell biology (molecular and cellular) with a strong back-ground in neurobiology, is required. Experience in animal models, microdissection and microsurgery will be appreciated. The candidate should be able to communicate and write the English language.
The selected applicant will join a dynamic and interactive INSERM team and have the opportunity to participate in collaborative studies with other national and international teams.
