POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN CELL BIOLOGY AND HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE RESEARCH
One postdoc position is immediately available in the laboratory of
Christian Neri (Brain-C:
at the Institute of Biology Paris-Seine (IBPS) in Paris.
The position is supported for 2 years starting March-April 2018. The
successful applicant will work on the regulation of neuronal
differentiation and neuronal function by the cell survival and
transcription factor FOXO3 in Huntington's disease (HD). The successful
applicant will use human pluripotent-stem-cell models and _C. elegans_
models of HD pathogenesis to characterize the physiological mechanisms
directly regulated by FOXO3 for promoting neuronal function and
Postdoc candidates are expected to be highly-qualified and independent.
Essential qualifications include demonstrated experience in either human
stem cell biology or _C. elegans_ genetics. Previous experience in using
latest molecular biology technologies is mandatory. Previous experience
in cellular neurobiology is a plus.
Postdoc candidates that just obtained their PhD are welcome to apply as
well as those with previous postdoctoral experience acquired outside
France (not to exceed 3-4 years) or in France (not to exceed 2 years).
The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team that
brings together network biology, cell biology and _C. elegans_ genetics.
This combination provides an excellent opportunity for a highly
motivated fellow interested by the biology of neurodegenerative diseases
on mechanistic and system levels.
Interested candidates should apply immediatly. Please provide a detailed
CV, a letter of motivation and a minimum of 2 letters of reference to
