Texte de l'offre

Our team from Nutrineuro laboratory in Bordeaux Neurocampus, France is looking for a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to work with us on the deleterious consequences of obesogenic diet consumption on the brain.

Research topic:

Obesogenic diet consumption has deleterious consequences not only on the cardio-vascular system but also on brain functioning, leading to neuropsychiatric symptoms.
Our laboratory aims to elucidate the neurobiological mechanisms responsible for impaired memory induced by obesogenic diet consumption during the peri-adolescent period with a particular interest in the role of circadian rhythms. We combine mouse behavior analyses, cellular and molecular biology tools with RNAseq and fiber photometry approaches to unveil the signaling pathways involved in memory impairment and their prevention by rhythmic food intake.

Location:

We are located at the Bordeaux Neurocampus, the Neuroscience Department of the University of Bordeaux, which offers state-of-art core facilities in an excellent international and multidisciplinary scientific environment.

Profile:

We seek to recruit a highly passionate and motivated postdoctoral fellow with a strong interest in studying molecular pathways of memory impairments in a context of unbalanced nutrition. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. degree in Life Science, preferentially in Neurosciences. Candidates with expertise in Matlab/python analyses and ideally with a background in fiber photometry approaches are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior experience with behavioral analyses or molecular biology is not required. The successful applicant should show the ability to think critically and drive a project independently while collaborating with members of the lab and collaborators. English is the working language. Knowledge of French is not required.

Position:

The position is funded by an ANR grant for 2 years. Salary will be commensurate to previous experience and in line with INRAE guidelines.
The successful candidate will be mentored and supported in his/her career development. Our laboratory is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.

Application:

Please send the following information (in one single PDF) to Marie-Pierre.Moisan@inrae.fr
1. Cover letter describing past research experiments, your research interests and career goals, and motivation to join our laboratory.
2. CV with the publication list and contact information of two referees.
A first round of evaluation will be concluded by January 15th, 2022. The application platform remains open until the position is filled. The starting date is flexible but ideally before June 2022.
