Texte de l'offre

A post-doctoral position is available in the Motoneuron lab of Dr. Cédric Raoul at the Institute for Neuroscience Montpellier for a collaborative project on adaptive immunity in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), focusing on the metabolic status and therapeutic potential of regulatory T cells.

About the Institute:

The Institute for Neurosciences of Montpellier (INM) comprises 8 Inserm Teams and a staff of 200 personnel working on sensory-motor deficits and neurodegeneration. Research is devoted to gene discovery and function, developmental biology, neurotransmission and molecular mechanisms of sensory motor disorders and neurodegeneration. INM hosts eleven facilities that provide services and cutting-edge technologies: Animal Facility, Functional Exploration, L2-Stem cells-Organoids, Photonic imaging, Electron microscopy, Clinical Proteomics, Human Neurogenetics, Gene Expression, Protein Engineering, Histology and Methods in Epidemiology.

About the Motoneuron team:

Our mission is to uncover the contribution of non-neuronal cells to motoneuron vulnerability to design innovative therapeutic intervention. We built up a multidisciplinary team with expertise ranging from cellular and molecular physiology of ALS to the genetic and clinic of ALS. We propose to explore the cellular, molecular and electrophysiological aspects of the pathology and link them with clinical expertise and research, to address the intrinsic defects of motoneurons that make them susceptible to signals emerging from other cellular partners.

About the position:

We invite applications from creative and highly motivated candidates with a strong neuroimmunology background. Qualified candidates must have:

Ph.D in Neuroscience or Immunology (obtained less than 3 years ago)

Experience and comfort in cytometry, cell culture and adoptive transfer

Familiarity with preclinical models of neurodegenerative disease.

 Strong analytical and writing skills

 Strong publication records

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Appointment to begin October 1, 2021, for a fully-funded period of 3 years.
