The team "Pleiotropy of morphogens" at the Institut du Fer à Moulin (IFM) in Paris is looking for a highly motivated candidate for a fully-funded (2 years) postdoctoral position. The start of the contract will be in Spring 2021. We study morphogenic signaling pathways during mouse and human embryonic neuronal development with a focus on the cerebral cortex. This ambitious project will use several approaches such as OMICs data analysis (RNAseq, ATACseq), primary cell culture, 3D brain imaging and live-imaging.
Requirements: PhD with a background in Neurosciences and/or Cell biology Experience with primary cell culture, histology and microscopy is mandatory Experience with OMICs data analysis will be highly appreciated Excellent teamwork skills Excellent communication skills in English
Julien Ferent's lab is a new team at the IFM, located in the Latin neighborhood in the center of Paris. The institute is focused on development and plasticity of the nervous system and is composed of 9 internationally renowned research groups. The IFM is highly international and organized in a collegial way, which provides a very stimulating and inclusive environment. State-of-the-art microscopy equipment is available to answer to all the needs of this project (videomicroscopy, confocal, light-sheet). The institute is affiliated with INSERM (French national institute for health research) and the renowned Sorbonne University.
