We are looking for a postdoc candidate funded by the ATIP-Avenir programme to study how diabetes impact primary sensory neurons and dorsal spinal cord interneurons subtypes leading to impairment of somatosensation. The team of Dr. Steeve Bourane in the laboratory INSERM U1188 - University of Reunion - DéTROI, La Reunion (France) investigates, through combined approaches from molecular and cellular biology to behavioral analysis the impact of diabetes on the somatosensory system. The contract will be for 2 years and should start in January 2021. Candidates should hold a PhD in Neurosciences (or in a related field) and have demonstrated scientific productivity (i.e. first-author publications). Experience in animal experimentation, behavioral testing would be an advantage. Knowledge on the functioning of the somatosensory system would be appreciated but is not required. The candidate should be highly motivated, organized and have good communication skills.
